class=\"elementor-text-editor elementor-clearfix\">\n\t\t\t\t<p>Mauritius is an island country in the Indian Ocean, about 2,000 kilometers away from the southeastern coast of the African continent and about 900 km east of Madagascar. The entire island group is of volcanic origin. The relief of Fr. Mauritius. The southern part is mountainous, with the highest peak, Petite Riviere Noire, 827 m. The central part is plateau-like, and the northern part is a coastal plain.<\/p><p>The island country has an area of 2,045 sq. km in the southwestern part of the Indian Ocean. It includes the island of Mauritius and the smaller Rodrigues (104 sq. km.), Agalega (71 sq. km.), Kargados \u2013 Karajos, etc., with a total coastline of 280
