Mr Christo Iliev, Hon Consul of Republic of Mauritius, met with Mr. Henry Martin McDowell IV, Chargé d'Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Sofia, Bulgaria

Mr Christo Iliev, Hon Consul of Republic of Mauritius, and Memeber of the Board of the Association of Honorary Consuls in Bulgaria (AHCB) held a meeting with Mr. Henry Martin Mcdowell IV - a career member of the Senior Foreign Service, Deputy Head of Mission and currently serving as the Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of the United States in Sofia, Bulgaria. Mr. Mcdowell has been in Bulgaria since Аugust 2024, a seasoned diplomat with previous experience in the region of South Central Europe and Director (EUR/SCE) in the State Department.

The meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere, with frank conversation about the challenges facing Bulgaria and the prospects for development of the bilateral relations. Discussed were the broader relations within the region as well as implications from events around the world. Bulgaria and USA have a long-standing and stable economic relationship and areas that have potential for further enlargement and main obstacles to that, were also in focus.
